12779 evening download speeds

I'm in South Fallsburg NY 12779 - I'm getting 2-3 bars of LTE signal all day long but around 9pm every night my download speed drops below 1MBPS.  During the day, runs as high as 9-10MBPS when I run speed tests.  sometimes during the day it drops to 0.5-4MPS at odd times.  4MPS is adequate.  Sub 1MPS is not.  Your coverage map declares this a covered area.  1MPS doesn't qualify in the year 2017.

Why is the download speed so volatile?  I am WAY under my max data allowance.

This is my second home and am depending on 4GLTE for all my streaming and internet use.  HELP!

As an update.  For about 20min this morning we were up to 3MBPS.   Then right back down below 1MBPS.  0.25-0.75MPS range most of the morning with 2-3 bars LTE signal.  I know it's not a device/location issue as we were getting 10MBPS mid day YESTERDAY- same device, same location.   It's a tower/power issue.  It's not a congestion issue at 730am on a Sunday either. 

i suspect you guys are throttling down this tower to save money during non-peak times.  Well, this practice is rendering service unusable.

Based on the information you have provided, if true with regard to not being at allowance or plan "soft-cap" limits-- I would have to assume it is in fact a congestion issue with too many individuals accessing (or even just connected to) a specific tower/switch center at a time (as you state this typically happens after a specific time). VZW does not "throttle down" a tower to save money....

What plan are you on?

Unlimited.  3 devices.  Iphone6, iphone6+ and smarthub.  

The congestion issue is perfectly reasonable, except, that I'm having congestion issues at 7am on a Sunday morning?  And I get a lag performance wise but 0.25-0.75MPS?  It's not even a densely populated area. 

It's Saturday night and all day Sunday.   Saturday morning and daytime are fine. 

Starting to think it's the numerous hassitic summer bungalow colonies in the area.  Sort of makes sense that sundown Saturday, people are allowed to get back on their phones.  The real test will be if service returns to normal after Labor Day once they've all left for the holiday season.

ishen1974, I know that I too would be concerned with a service experience like this. Lukevinyl provided some great points about potential causes. You also brought up an important key detail too; that there are more people connecting to the local tower at the moment. Please keep us posted with your service experience within the next few weeks as people start to leave for the holiday season.

I live in central Alabama and have one to two bars of signal with LTE. My service is so bad in the evening that it takes 5-10 minutes just for an imessage to go through. You can forget looking anything up on the internet, sending a picture or receiving an email. I know that it's because the tower is overloaded. However, I have four personal cell phones with Verizon and six business cell phones with them. If this service doesn't improve very soon I'm switching the entire lot back to AT&T. They have just put up three new towers in my area so I know they aren't overloaded at this point. They probably will be very soon though if Verizon doesn't fix this issue.
