What type of texts will show as read in Verizon messages+?

when I send texts using messaging+ it will always show either sent/delivered and sometimes will tell me when it has been read but not always. do I need to adjust some settings to show it as read or is this only going to happen on certain type of texts (like Verizon to Verizon, only if they are using messaging+, ect)?

I've noticed if I send a text to a non Verizon customer, I've noticed that the message only shows as "Sent". When i send to a Verizon customer, it shows Delivered, and epending on the recipients settings in the app, for Send Read Receipt being ticked, possibly determines if "Read" displays on the sender's end. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Allow me to clarify this confusion, chris1060. Your phone is working as designed. Messages will display delivered only when you messages another Verizon Wireless customer if that customer has set the Verizon Messages application to share a delivery confirmation. This option is not available with customer of other carriers and your message will only display sent.

Verizon is about the only one that does not show when someone reads or is typing a response.  I know TMobile has this option on all their phones.  For what I am paying with Verizon, you would think this was an option.
