This text message content thing is really making me mad!

I am an account owner which means I pay the bill. I think it really sucks that Verizon has absolutely no way to be able to show the content of a text message, or so they say. I believe that as the person who pays the bill that I should be able to access ANY information involving MY account. Other companies have ways to do this, such as at&t provides the SIM card and you can retreieve even deleted texts. Verizon should have an option to be able to pull up that content. Is verizon ever going to try and accomodate this? I know I am not the only person who feels this way. Our phones have limited memory and we should at least be offered a way to be able to archive our messages online or something. Can anyone tell me if they have heard whether or not verzion plans on doing this and WHEN?

There is a thing called privacy invasion. That is why it is not available. Highly doubt Verizon or any other U.S. carrier will ever offer this feature to become available. Correct AT&T does use sim cards. However yes sometimes there is the option for the sim card to hold text messages. The person would have to physically back their text messages on their sim card. You are wrong about retreiving deleted text on AT&T.  AT&T is the same way with a court order. Once a text is deleted from a phone & is not saved any where then there is NO way to get it back unless some how a court order is involved.

If you really want to save text messages get a memory card. Back them up to the memory card or even forward the text messages to your email address if their that important.

I for one am glad no one can go online and read my texts and invaid my privacy.    Granted I have nothing to hide but what if someone hacked into my account then could see all my texts, would not be very happy about that.  I don't see why every one wants to read every one elses texts.  If you can't trust someone on your account them get rid of them or get rid of the texting.  Mary

Do you get upset that Verizon doesn't give you a phone transcript of all calls? I just don't understand the need to see other text messages...if it's a serious issue then the police should already be involved and they can get it...

Yes I understand privacy invasion but what about when it is my privacy!!!! I pay the bill I should be able to access anything that I pay for. I am not asking to see messages on someone elses account,. This is my account and therefore I do not believe that I am invading anyones privacy. I am very aware that this is not something that would be available for just anyone to see, but like I said I believe that is you pay the bill you should have access to it.

Also I am not wanting to read anybody elses text messages I needed a copy of my own text messages. I think this has been mis interpreted. I would not want anyone else looking at my texts either. I, for personal reasons needed to obtain a copy of the texts from MY number only.

Any conversation, text or voice, takes place between at least 2 parties. The other party's privacy must also be considered, and I imagine that's quite a legal hurdle to overcome.

My response to this is... I am very happy no one can view my texts, except me, the one who has the phone. That would be ridiculous to have access to everyone on the plans texts. I am an adult, I share a plan with other adults, we all Pay our own portion of the bill. I would be outraged if they could also access my personal texts, or I am sure they would feel the same way if I could access their's. I hope that what you want available NEVER comes to be.  What an invasion of privacy!!

Can you imagen how many people would try to file law suits against Verizon if this feature was available? Tons!

Again! I am not trying to view anyone elses texts but my own and like I said I need them for personal reasons, and no it may never come available, but instead of criticizing and instantly thinking I am in the wrong, you need to look at the bigger picture or think about if for whatever reason may come about that you would need a copy of this information how would you feel? I was posting this in hope of hel but I see I made a mistake and everyone thinks I am the bad guy but if you only knew the whole story you would feel sorry for me rather than judge or criticize.  So the next time you are in a situation that you feel you might need help with remember how you reacted to mine. Thank you all. I did not have one person inquire as to what it was about or sypathize  it was instant judgement.
