Texting Problems...

Hello. I am posting this because i am having problems sending and recieving text to my friends and family. I just switched over from at&t this morning and kept my number. My family has AT&T and they tried sending me text messages too and im not getting any from them either. I can call them with no problems at all, but no text messages. One of my friends has verizon and he gets my texts with no problem and i get his with no problem either, its just with other people who are non-verizon members. Has Anyone else had this problem? If someone can please tell me how i can fix this i would be most appreciative, thanks.

If you kept the same number that you had with AT&T its probably AT&T's fault. They have done it before where they mess up and it makes it so that your texts wont work to AT&T people from your phone. Which is really stupid. But if you didn't keep your number then you will need to call Tech Support on Verizon. Actually you will need to call them either way. If you kept your number and you can't get your texts to AT&T people you will probably have to get a new number like my friend had to.

I am almost positive that you can. Just call Verizon to verify.

Nevermind. I just had my stepdad send me a text and i got it i sent him one and he got it right away too. Mustve maybe been something up in my area yesterday. Im just glad it works now. But anyways thanks to all who replied and tried to help. Now if i can only figure out how the fm transmitter on my chocolate 3 works, and if its a free service

I doubt its free. This is a phone company we are talking about. lol

This can happen when a number is ported.  It can sometimes take up to 72 hours before texting works to people on other networks other then where you ported to, in this case Verizon Wirless.

Ive had my Samsung u410 just over a yr all works fine but within the last 3 wks all of a sudden seams Im havening a little trouble some times sending text msgs i get failed or some other error msg don't remember the other can any one shed a little help on this ?? ..i did buy it new online verizon website

man I'm sure glade i don't have a txting problem cause you sure don't get any responce  -r- replys on this lam forum so far I'm very disapointed in this verizon forum it supposed to be to get info and help so far Ive got Nothing !!

You might have better luck getting some answers if you started your own thread.  Just click "New Message" in the top left of the forum and hopefully you will get some responses.
