Text messages showing read but there was no alert that a text ever came over

I an some other's I know that have Verizon and the Iphones are having issues with text messages coming over and never alerting us.  They show as read to the other person if you have that feature on but the have not been seen by me.  It is very frustrating because I am not messaging back or even getting sometimes important messages.  Is any one else experiencing this?  I am starting to get very frustrated with all the updates and changes.

Hello, being on top of your text messages is vital, especially if you are not getting alerted when they come in plus they are being established as read when you have not viewed them. We are here to aid you in the best way possible. When did the problem start? What recent changes have you made? Aside from the text messaging, any other issues?
