My phone counts my text messages weird. It only saves 30 in my outbox and I can only keep 50 in my inbox. Any way to fix this?

Limits on how much you can store of text are set unfortuanitly. You could free more space on the phone by keeping pictures and such on a memory card.

The weird thing, though, is that I know people with the same phone who do not have this problem. Maybe it is just my phone...?

Could be without looking at the phone I couldnt say. Advise taking to a tech at a store.
