Is there any way to read the text messages sent from a phone on your plan on the internet or anything.  I want to see what my son is texting.

You'll have to get the phone from him and read them on the device....you cannot view them online.  You can see the numbers he is texting to and receiving texts from, but not the content.

I've read several posts on this site reference this same questions and some people say it's illegal, etc, but my friend has AT&T and she can read her entire family's texts online (not just the numbers but the content).  It's a service she pays for.  I wonder if Verizon is going to make this available for it's customers, too.  I would like to see what my kids are texting as well.

So is this service right from AT&T or a 3rd. party app?  I googled and found this question asked on their site and the answer was this can't be done but they did give some 3rd. party apps or something.  Don't have to worry about it myself but was just wondering.    Mary

It cannot be done. You cannot view what is said in the actual messages online. Even with AT&T or any other wireless provider. The only way to actually view what is in the messages is if you have a court order. Once you have a court order then your wireless provider will provide you with the messages.

For now you can only veiw what phone numbers are messaging the phone & what numbers are being messaged. Along with data/time and how many messages were used.

I didn't think it could be done.  To me that is an invations of privacy and just not right if you could do that.  If parents today can't trust who their kids are texting then maybe the phones should be taken away.  Mary

I am not aware of any service either Wireless Carrier or vendor that will allow you to read the content of your text messages online.

Maybe the poster will get back to us and let us know how exactly her friend is doing this.  Mary
