Not receiving texts on iPhone 5 suddenly

I suddenly stopped receiving texts from certain people but I am still receiving it from others.

I have an iPhone 5

I do not use iMessage

Not receiving messages from multiple networks

I dialed *228 and a message came up saying "This number is not allowed" so I couldn't do that

I took the 1 out of the person's area code and that still did not work

Help!

michaelskymoon lets get those messages flowing! What zip code are you located in? Do these individuals have iPhones too? Are you able to send them messages?
