Just switched to an package with unlimited texting. Kids have had "x" number of text plan per month and wife and I have had no text before. Now that I switched and we all have unlimited text. Three of the lines show up with a 1.99 charge each for megabyte charges for data. My line is the only one that was not charged. The kids lines from the previous plan have never had a charge for megabyte usage.
Wondering what that charge would be for, don't see any details on the bill that show what the individual charge is for.
Thanks.

If you never use mobile web, vcast, etc... then I would block all these features via My Verizon, so that you don't accidently access these features. Don't put the National Access Block if you want to continue to use Pix/Flix, but the rest of them are great.

I did have an america's choice plan. Was 500 anytime minutes then the kids had text packages. I now have Nationwide select 700 with unlimited text.
So am I now going to be charge an extra 1.99 after so many megabytes of text have been sent?
Here is the usage breakdown.
Main Line
53 text
578 m2m text
2 pix/flix
charged 1.99 megabyte
first shared line
2 text
172 m2m text
1 pix/flix
No megabyte charge
second shared line
9432 text
3070 m2m
204 pix/flix
charged 1.99 megabyte
third shared line
752 text
2281 m2m
60 pix/fix
charged 1.99 megabyte
Seems like if I am now going to be charged 1.99 after so many texts add up to a megabyte ( not sure it that is what is going on or not) it was not brought to my attention before I switched. I figure unlimited text should be unlimited no extra charges.
Let me know if I am understanding this correctly, or if there is some other reason there would be a megabyte charge.
Thanks again for your quick response.

You will not be charged MB usage for texting/pix/flix. MB charges apply when you use the Data network, such as accessing Get It Now/Media Center, Mobile Web, and VCast Products. So, if you open any of those applications, even just to browse ringtones or applications, you will see data usage and will be charged accordingly.
That includes if you accidently access any of these features. At the end of the month, verizon rounds UP to the nearest MB, so if you use 1 kb, you will be charged for 1 MB... if you use 1.5 MB, you will be charged for 2... etc.
You have two options available. Put blocks on all these applications via My Verizon or... in your case... upgrade to a Connect plan and use these features to your heart's content. Of course, there's also the VPak that you can add to individual lines for an additional $15 a month, but that's PER LINE.

OK, I blocked purchase ringtones, vcast music, mobile web, and application download. When I did that when I hit confirm it gave a message that said blocking mobile web is a conflict with mobile web for mb plans. I went ahead and hit ok or submit anyway even though it said that.
Did it for each line on the plan. I see that .2mb have been used on two lines already for the next billing cycle, so I suppose I will be out another 4 bucks.
Let me know if it looks like I made the right changes to keep from this happening again.
Thanks.

However be aware that unless you put a national access block though customer care on your line. You will never have a truly mb charge free line. This does block picutre messaging however
How would I incur a charge for mb usage with the current blocks that I have on? What would have to happen or be accessed? So I can let everyone on the plan know what not to do.
