Is There A Way To Block Free Messages From Verizon?

I get notifications for miscellaneous account related things and I truly dont want notifications but cant figure out how to turn them off. I have tried to reply back with "Stop, Quit" etc. but hasnt worked. Added it to blocked text list and still gets through.  Really more of an annoyance more than anything.

Getting unwanted text messages can be a drag, klee0323. There are ways to limit automatic messages. Please see question 7 here. http://vz.to/2dU9f0K
