First, is it true that you don't get charged for text messages that you don't open/read?
Can I read them on-line?

Jillian,
I believe the text messages are charged when received, read or not. And the only way to read them online is to forward them to your email, which would involve opening the text and then sending another, so it defeats the purpose of keeping down your message count. If you are bumping your message limits, up the plan.

Good advice from Suzy, increase your plan allowance if you need more messages. And yes, you are charged for the message even if you don't open/read it. As long at it's terminated to the device it still counts as 1 message received.
