Whenever I send a text or pic message from my Motorola Droid to my girlfriend's Blackberry, all goes through fine. However; I cannot receive any messages from her phone, just everyone elses. Has anyone else encountered something like this?

Did it just start? Has she been able to send texts to you from the BB in the past? Does she have the 10 digit phone number saved not just the 7 digits for you in her contacts?

I am having problems too and on this site I am seeing others with the same problem. Most of our problems have started on Sept. 15. My son and daughter have blackberries. I can send text to my daughter and she replies. I do not receive the reply. On her end it says that it has been sent, but I receive nothing. My send sends me text on his blackberry and I receive all of them. Very odd. We are all on the same account too. Any one with a solution? Verizon?

In a number of recent threads, here and on the Blackberry boards, it has been found that eliminating the "1" in front of the area code-phone number will resolve this issue.
With landline phones, you often have to dial "1" before the area code. I discovered long ago that it is not necessary to do so with my cell phone. It works with the "1" first, but also works without it.
Lately, the "1" has been interpreted by some phones' software as a country code for the US and pre-pends 011 to the phone number rather than just the 1, causing havoc, undelivered messages, etc.
The simple solution is to remove the "1" from all your contact phone numbers. And while you are checking and revising, make sure all your numbers include the area code as well.
