In years past I had the Verizon cloud. There was a bunch of pictures and data saved. Did the cloud go through an upgrade or old accounts be deleted? I can not find an option to sign into my old cloud?

Back around 2017, customers were notified that the free cloud service was being discontinued and should either download their content or upgrad to one of the paid plans. If you had a free service and didn't upgrade then the content won't be available any more. If you did upgrade and kept the service on your mobile number then you should still have access to it.
You can log into https://cloud.verizonwireless.com with your mobile number and the MyVerizon password associated with it. If you see a message about subscribing to the service or only see contacts, then you don't have the feature on your mobile number. Contact support or go to Verizonwireless.com to subscribe to the service if you wish to sign up again.

Shuckydarn2, being on top of your Verizon Cloud service is vital, especially if you cannot sign in. When did the issue start? What recent changes have occurred (software update, new phone, etc.)? What exactly happens when you try to sign in?

The 'free' Verizon cloud service was converted to a paid service for storage beyond contacts. This occurred months ago and there have been numerous threads discussing it. Notifications were sent prior informing us to back up/download our stored data if we were not going to pay for the new service. When the cutover was complete, all stored data was available for 30 days or so to be recovered but after that, deleted and gone forever.
