I know this question is 2 years old, but I am having this problem. My contacts disappeared two days ago. I manually reentered them, and this morning most of them were gone. Some, weirdly, didn't disappear. I see support seems to have stopped responding to this thread. Was this ever resolved?

I have tried everything suggested above and other ways to restore contacts from Google, and Verizon. No success.
I use my phone to contact clients for my small business, so I absolutely need to find a solution. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
