tethering / WiFi hotspot question

I recently upgraded to the Galaxy Nexus from the original Droid (1) and was "grandfathered" in with the unlimited data plan.  I'm wondering if a) tethering my phone / wifi hotspoting my phone would be included with that unlimited data plan or b) do I have to add tethering/hotspoting to my plan (if so how much extra would this be) and c) if I were to add this feature to my current plan, would it override/nullify my "grandfathered" unlimited data plan.

Thanks for helping,

Rodger

No the hotspot would be an extra charge. However since you have a 4G device, the hotspot is $30/month for unlimited data for it.

Hotspot is a separate charge on your bill, and not included in your grandfathered unlimited data plan.

I believe the charges start at $30 for 2gigs/month, but I could be wrong.

You should check the options in myVerizon website to find the true charges/data allowances etc.

Ask Verizon.  You can get an authoritative answer in seconds.

FWIW, after upgrading, I no longer have two separate data usage meters on my account.  I now have "unlimited" and all use (phone, tethered, and hotspot) shows up on the unlimited data usage meter.  But I already had a tethering data plan on my old phone so this was rolling in an existing service.
