The weather server google uses is down. If you don't set a location for weather (uncheck Use my location and Set location is blank), the rest of the news should load fine. It's affecting the News and Weather app (geniewidget.apk) for all devices.

Was about to change the location setting when, as pool_shark said, it cleared and is now OK. I'll definitely keep in mind the location tip for when if happens again

FIXED (for me anyways). I went into settings and then into "Location Services" and turned on "Google's Location Service", checked the weather and news again and it instantly came up. My "GPS", "Location & Google Search" were already enabled. I then went back in and turned it off.. and got the "no weather location available" again. So obviously I re-enable "Locations Services" again.. and all good now. Hope this helps you all.
