Also GSM Nexus S doesn't have Google Wallet themselves. So what do you expect? The Nexus S 4G does. Could it mean a side deal with Sprint? No one talks about that one :smileyhappy:

I thought this was a VZW board.

You all abandoned us!  We had to keep busy in the meantime.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Dear Verizon,

This has to be the most poorly executed release of a highly anticipated piece of technology to date.  You have taken the opportunity of showcasing the best android phone that is exclusive to your network and flushing it down the toilet.  This should be a case study in business schools as to how not to market a new phone.  I understand no official statement has been made by your corporate marketing gurus, but we as well as you know that leaks abound about so-called release dates.  Perhaps I'm wrong and this is sheer genius on your part to build anticipation.  Unfortunately I see it as an exercise in building frustration with your brand.  I can honestly say I am not merely disappointed with the way this has been handled but totally disgusted with your marketing team........

This guy does.
Editorial: Is the Verizon Galaxy Nexus really a Nexus? You betcha

"Google Wallet isn't part of AOSP (The Android Open Source Project).  It's included with the Sprint Nexus S 4G (which is the only phone to offer Google Wallet without hacks) because of some sort of deal between Google and Sprint that we don't like, understand, or really know anything about."

Word is...  Galaxy Nexus LTE version is getting another update don't know if it is a major or minor and it is being pushed on test models.  Currently we are at 4.1.0 so seems like they are still working something out. I still have a feeling it's the LTE code being worked on.

Ok, everyone just take a breath....

Snifff..... Breathe in.....

ppphheewwww..... Breathe out.....

Deep cleansing breath....

Visualize fluffy kittens...

Visualize ocean waves gently washing up on a sandy beach...

Deep, calming breaths....

The phone will come out when it will. It is afterall, JUST A PHONE. It is a CONVEIENCE. Hell, I'm on a 2.5 year old Blackberry that is being held together with Gaffer's Tape! It will be out when it will be out. We're all bigger than this right? Are we not more than just a phone? Are we defined by more than just a piece of glass, metal and silicon?

I don't know about you folks, but I'm gonna go have a beer, watch some TV (on a REAL TV, with a BIG SCREEN), go out and look at the stars, may go hit the hot tub and generally relax. Tomorrow will come whether this phone comes out or not.

Many of us signed up for more information from the sign-up page(s).  I signed up on all 3 - Verizon, Google, and Samsung.  It has been close to 2 months and not 1 email has come from any source.  Most of my frustration is this total lack of communication.  How would everyone feel if this phone didn't get released until March?  I know that sounds drastic but most of us have expected to hear something by now.  We haven't even heard the first update!  Customers like to hear feedback.  If for nothing else, it acknowledges them and makes them feel like their business is important.

I personally don't see why we can't pre-order and pick it up in the store as soon as it does pass final testing.  I don't need a concrete date, just let me get my order in so I know I will have one waiting for me as soon as possible.  Then a simple email telling me when and where my phone will be available for pick-up would make me happy.  Don't most companies want happy customers?

Lately I've been feeling like the dogs at the racetrack.  They use a little fake bunny that the dogs chase around the track.  No matter how fast the fastest dog runs, he (and all the other dogs) will never catch that bunny.  Verizon has been sticking this G-Nex out for us to chase around in circles just like those dogs chasing the bunny.

How many have thought to get a 'loaner' phone in the form of a Rezound or Droid RAZR with the intention of returning it as soon as the G-Nex is available?  Maybe they're going to keep 'testing' just long enough to run past the Jan 15 deadline to return holiday phones.  It's just another month (and change) down the road.  What's another month?

Most of us are mature enough to understand that things happen and not everything can be released when we want.  This total lack of communication though makes me feel unimportant as a Verizon customer.  I know me being just 1 customer is not going to make Verizon lose sleep if I jump ship.  Trying to get thousands to jump ship is not just realistic or practical.  Verizon knows this, hence the reason there is no pre-order and no communication.  You're going to just suck it up and keep waiting, just like they want us to.

Anyone else starting to feel more like a Verizon slave and less like a valued customer?

P.S.  Now watch the phone actually drop today.

Ummm... That would be because Google Wallet does not work outside of the U.S.  Having Google Wallet on a device where there are no NFC scanners that accept Google Wallet would be mighty pointless. :smileyhappy:

edit:  My apologies, I see you said Nexus S, not Galaxy Nexus.
