Actually all vzw does is approve the update. It's pushed and supported by google as this is a google phone. Verizon supplies the service and has say in what goes thru but google has there's as well since they own the phone. that said we should see it in the coming weeks.

I can't wait to go to my local VZ store and wave my arm.I don't give damn if you update or not. My contract coming to end in few months.That's my update for you Verizon

4.2.2 will be rolling out today 3/19 everyone. Keep an eye out for it
