I've been a Verizon customer since they were Airtouch.

I've been eligible for an upgrade since last year but they haven't released anything I've wanted yet. The fascinate has my attention as does the Droid 2.

I guess the difference between myself and so many that are complaining is, I don't pout and stomp my feet just because I'd like a new phone that isn't available at this time.

I'm not going to sign ape tition, I'm not going to call Verizon everyday and beg them for information, and if I do decide to part ways with Verizon I won't make a thread about it, I'll just leave and get a new device.

I know that just because I'm a long time customer doesn't mean I get inside info. I also know that if I threaten to leave I won't be missed.

You people are hilarious!

Go ahead, take your ball and go home.

Hysterical!  I agree with everything you said.  The fact that people get so worked up over a phone (and I do understand - I'm extremely attached to my smartphone) but really.  Folks, take a deep breath and repeat after me:  "its just a phone...its just a phone....its just a phone...."

Believe me, life goes on. However companies respond if they realize that a real customer base wants something. I have never called VZW about the phone and Im not threatening to leave. But it would be nice if they would release the phone.

UGHHHH!!!

Verizon is getting on my nerves too! I've expected them to release Samsung Fascinate by the end of August, since one of the reps at the Samsung presentation said late weeks of August. BUT, now they have no news on it whatsoever, and theyre saying late September? ARE THEY CRAZY????

What are people supposed to do if they schedules their phone upgrades according to what Verizon ? Now- I have to BORROW a phone from a friend for 3 weeks, who can only lend it to me for 3 weeks, and then if it still doesn't come out, I might have to get one of those walmart phones and then wait until it comes out...

WOW...of course it's "just a phone" for people who don't need desperately need to buy a new phone at the moment and dont have to use more money than they already have to to wait for the fascinate...

I think I really should switch to AT & T...and I've been a loyal fan of verizon for years....wow...

I'm in the position of needing certain features within a phone and right now the only phones that give me that are the Droid X, Samsung Fascinate, and iPhone 4. I really need unlimited data so Verizon's network is the only choice there. The Droid X is an option, but it's sold out and a really big phone. So that leaves the Samsung Fascinate. I need the phone as soon as possible and could plan on what I would get if I knew when the Samsung would come out.

Honestly, I'm probably going to have to hunt down an iPhone and just suffer with the 2GB/month.

Come on Verizon. All I am asking for is a date or round about date. Tell me 2-4 weeks or Sept 1, or something.

Fascinate or Droid X are your best chances. There are also other Galaxy phones being released. There is the Samsung Vibrant by T-mobile which is kind of like the fascinate.T-mobiles still offers unlimited data plans for $25.99 a month. Don't get the iPhone. Too many problems on it and complaints. Like i said get either the Droid X, fascinate or even Vibrant.  Oh and just to add in....with verizon you have 30 days to test out a phone. You could very well get the Droid X & test it out. If the Fascinate is released within the 30 days for you then you can exchange the phone for it

What I find interesting is how many people seem to think that Verizon is intentionally holding pack releasing the phone without reason, as though just to make it difficult for them.  The reality is that I don't think we know why the Fascinate has not been released or if this is even something Verizon controls.  There could be any number of valid reasons for it not having been released yet and some factors in the Fascinate's release may be dependent upon other actions or decisions, making offering a release date impractical until those factors are known.

I will say that the potential of LTE phones coming out did affect our decision.  We did not want to wait too long to make a decision now and then find ourselves having to potentially wait to upgrade to an LTE phone when they are released.

Don't know if it's true but I read that Verizon doesn't really push Samsung phones. I have the Samsung Omnia and only stumbled across it on their website, no advertisement. They were only pushing Blackberry at the time.

Also read accusations that customers were being discouraged from getting Samsung phones. Not sure why or if true but could it be Samsung charges them more than some other companies? That would explain why they don't want it to compete with certain phones releasing soon.

For those that don't know, the leaked verizon roadmap (not confirmed to be real) indicates that this phone will not be released until mid to late October. For what ever reason Verizon seems to be trying to kill the Fascinate.
