I'm not a big fan of non-removable batteries. They tend to degrade overtime. And as it goes for it getting ICS that will be a longer wait then the Gnex getting the update

Me neither, but then I came across a 3 degraded phones, aka GNex, and that made me an enemy of already degraded phone.

I love my RAZR MAXX because it works and it works for loooong time on a single charge.

GNex is a bloodsucker

I agree. I went into a Verizon store and the customer service was 1000%

better than calling Verizon. The person I talked to was completely upfront

about all the problems they have had, and was actually honest for a change.

I went with the Razr Maxx, and while Ice Cream Sandwich is awesome, I'm so

much happier with this phone. For one thing it actually works as a phone,

and I don't have to worry about my battery running out midday. It's

incredible that Verizon customer service (I talked to the "executive

customer service", whatever that means) claims that the Nexus hasn't had

problems. It's kind of funny, in the store they had huge Iphone and Razr

displays, and literally one Galaxy Nexus phone sitting there

inconspicuously. Clearly it isn't the "flagship" they thought it would be.

I'm just glad my 4 month long Nexus nightmare is over, and I have a phone

that works.

I think its pretty obvious the nexus wasn't the flagship phone... it was

NEVER a flagship to anyone other than techies. But it was something that we

all wanted to be a flagship... unfortunately for verizon it will always be

something with a droid brand name.

Both phones have been identified as Flagship phones, it just comes down to whether the HD screen and the new OS vs the old one are important to the user.

Even though the Nexus now has Chrome, the Razr continues to be a great choice for those who like the old Android operating system and don't need cutting edge.

Motorola's schedule shows the Razr getting an ICS rollout in Q3; however, it looks like 5 new Nexus devices will be revealed in Q4 and the Nexus line will be first in line for Android 5.0 (or 4.1 depending on which version release number you believe).

I have the SGN and I'm running 4.0.4 at the moment and I can honestly say that I have absolutely no problems with connection or battery life (although I will be honest and say that I purchased the extended life battery and cover).  I charge my phone in the morning and I still have 35% battery by the time I go to bed at night.  Of course battery life can depend on many factors, how much you use the phone, how bright your screen is, connecting through 4G or 3G, bluetooth searching, etc.  I had an Apple iPhone4 before I switched to Verizon and Android and I can honestly say that even the iPhone will run out of juice mid-day if you use the phone a lot.  I had to carry an iPhone charger in my car and sometimes needed to charge the iPhone while driving.  Comparatively, battery life on the iPhone vs SGN with ICS 4.0.4 and extended battery there is actually very little difference.  Now if Verizon will ever release Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) for the SGN, I understand there is a fix in JB to use less battery on standby time.  I WANT MY JB VERIZON!!!!

And here we go again...just like the 4.0.2 to .0.4 update...  It's deja vu all over.

I've read everything there is to read about this issue (from third parties, since Verizon is silent on the issue), and based on what I've read about this upcoming update, plus everything I've read about the delays for past updates, this is an issue of prioritization. In short, Verizon has not made pushing out Android updates a priority. If they wanted to put more resources behind updates being deployed faster, it would be done. Verizon is supposed to be the top-quality provider here in the US, they've built a great brand image, and my interpretation of this nonsense is that they think timely updates are not an important enough issue to warrant additional resources making it happen faster.

My advice to my fellow frustrated Galaxy Nexus owners: keep complaining, tell everyone you know about these silly delays, and keep sharing/tweeting your frustration through all available channels. If the issue becomes enough of a thorn in Verizon's side, they may start paying attention.

2 things:

Battery Life.....I bought Power Matt's external power pack, it was next to useless, it would extend my orig Droid use but not fully recharge the battery....I latter washed it in the washer machine accidentally, which was a good thing, it didn't like the idea and refused to work.  I bought a Zagg Sparq at Radio Shack, as my new Droid Razr battery didn't last long and it WOULD totally recharge the Razr 4 times and a month later I took it back because people complained that it garbled speach....and hearing the calls had a lot of artifacts.  The Sparq will recharge my GNex 4 times also, so I pretty much take it w/ me when I'm going to be gone a while.  I've not experienced any issues w/ the Sparq and pretty well keep it charged all the time and occasionally will recycle by attaching my old cell and the GNex to drain the power and fully recharge it.  The Sparq has 6000mAh but there's a newer one out there by Trent looks like from 5200mAh to 12000mAh, the latter should do even a better job. I also purchased zip cord for recharging, the wiring is so much lighter weight pulling on the phone.

Priority of updates...I just remembered that T-Mobile lost 706,000 customers due to the iPhone issue...that HAD to help out ATT and Verizon.....T-Mobil was caught in the possibility of ATT buying them out, I gues didn't carry them as ATT already had them....this all happened just before Verizon acquired them.  Also I understand that the iPhone .....profit margin was minimal on the phone....if they didn't actually lose money by adding them to their line up.  The accessories for the iPhone and providing service was the only gain.

I just found out that Google will no longer support CDMA versions of its operating system due to Verizon's policies.  Check out this article before Verizon removes it from this post!

I'm soooo going back to AT&T after my contract is up!
