I was contacted by a Verizon CS person and told that they have nothing to do with the update to Jelly Bean. It comes directly from Samsung, they determine when the device will be upgraded. He didn't know if or when the Galaxy Nexus would be upgraded.  He basically acted like he had never heard of Jelly Bean. I told him that he was full of (edited content to comply with)

and I wasn't going to speak to him if he was just going to lie to me. Then I hung up. I expect my service will be terminated soon.

ridiculous. other carriers have jellybean already on their galaxy nexus. I will definitely rethink my contract when it comes time to renew if they're going to be so behind other carriers with updates.

he could have been telling the truth.. verizon has about 60 phones all on different softwares. The release dates aren't shared with the front line.. when its pushed to the phone they get an email that its now rolling out to phones.. stop crying so much, its software.. it isn't going to do anything earth shattering.

Call the local grocery store and ask if they have some obscure flavor of ben and jerrys and see what they say

I can barely remember when this site was actually helpful and decent, with users that actually wanted to help others.

Now it seems to be full of rude, loud mouth children that love the smell of their own farts.

Sites such as androidforums, androidcentral, and rootzwiki are much better places to get useful information.

Later kids.

>Personal attack removed< My Galaxy doesn't work and the reason is no update to JB and the fault of that lies solely with Verizon who also promised me it would be 'any time now'! So

>Keep naming calling to yourself and off the board<

Another fine example of why big business should not be allowed to operate without being strictly regulated. Especially when providing a utility we all need!

This is entirely absurd. >Post edited to remove complaint of moderation. The items that have been edited does not take away from the complaints. I strongly urge everyone to read the Terms of Service https://community.verizonwireless.com/docs/DOC-1011 to see what can and can not be said on this site<

Verizon is turning into as much of control freak if not more than Apple -- except it worse.   yes, apple does regulate what apps can go on iPhones but when there is a software update everyone gets it on day one.    The Nexus was VZ's first pure Verizon phone.   These updates can get pushed out directly from Google.   Of course, excuses are made that extra steps have to be added in the process.  Qualcomm has to aprove it, VZ had to approve it.  It really comes from Samsung.  All of these are smoke screens and imply and undue layer of interference in the process.   VZ customers did not buy the Nexus because they thought they were buying a Droid Razr, LG, or HTC Android. They bought the Nexus because it different.  Now VZ Nexus owners are getting a second rate experience.

Honestly I would doubt less that the representative was lying and probably more clueless about the OTA process than anything.  I have yet to talk to a Verizon employee who actually knows much about phones in general.  Tech support?  Yea OK.

I would assume we should see the OTA soon considering 4.0.4 was released to AOSP servers on March 28th and Verizon finally approved the update and it was release on like May 30th.  4.1.1 was released on the AOSP servers on July 9th so if we look historically it could be soon.  Verizon may sandbag until the GS3 (or even the 3 new Droid RAZR phones) receive Jelly Bean since those are the phones Verizon is pushing [Since the Galaxy Nexus has always been the redheaded step child (no offense to redheads or step children)].  If this happens the Verizon Galaxy Nexus will be the FIRST Nexus phone to get ninja'd with the release of an Android Version by another phone(s).  When that happens it will solidify that my current Verizon contract is my LAST.
