I updated my phone to the Froyo 2.2 with now problems. However, after the update the phone "bogs down" between transitions. For example when I am in something and switch back to the home screen it takes 5 seconds or so before it makes the switch back. It does this between any switches. It's never done this until after I installed the update. Any suggestions on what should be done?

I did do a factory reset and it did indeed solve my problems. Thanks everyone for your help.
yeah i've got the same issue. **bleep** me off cause i've been waiting for this. also feeds and updates is mad slow after update. one more thing. after update I went on the market. Which I swore was revamped for the new update. Later I went back on and same old market
Have you restarted the phone or taken the battery out? I restored my roommates phone and went to the 2.2 from vzw and it runs smoother than ever..
yes, I had the battery out for about 7-8 minutes.
did you just update? I had similiar issues for about an hour or so
I updated around mid-day.
I understand this requires some work on the phone owner's part, especially if a lot of customization has been done (and it also has created a considerable stur in other corners of this forum, but has anyone tried a hard reset? It is recommended by all phone manufacturers after an upgrade this big.
Be advised that if you have apps that are no longer listed at the app store you will lose them after a hard reset.

So...if I do a factory reset does it delete my contacts?

Yes, it will delete everything except what is stored on your SD card. It will be in the same state as if was a new phone just taken out of the box. Your apps will need to be re-installed, your settings configured again, your accounts re-added, etc.
If your contacts are linked to your google account, it will simply download them again when you re-add and sync your google account after the reset. Or you can use Backup Assistant if you don't use google contacts or you can download any number of apps from the market. You can also export your contacts to your SD card and then import them again. Many options as far as contacts go.
