Jelly Bean 4.1

I have been patient. Google announced the Jelly Bean update would be pushed out in July. I have waited.... BUT - it is now July 31st and I STILL have not gotten the Jelly Bean 4.1 update! WHY NOT!? I have friends who have the Galaxy Nexus on other carriers, or who have bought them directly from Google and they have had the update for SEVERAL weeks now. WHEN WILL I RECEIVE THE UPDATE?

When Verizon Wireless finishes testing it and the CDMA portion is approved by all the parties involved with it?

Oh - sorta like they did 4.0.4 which was pretty much never? Tsk Tsk Tsk.... Very disappointing to buy "The Flagship Phone" that will "receive all updates and enhancements before all other Android devices", only to have the carrier screw things up....

Just keep being patient.

To be honest, JB really isn't special, don't listen to the hype.

So what I'm getting from Ann154 is that Verizon is the one holding up the process, as always.  Kind of like how they held up Google Wallet, because they may launch a competing product, maybe sometime in the next 10 years (which Google should have come after them for anti-trust on).  Between the data limits and Verizon's refusal to allow phones not loaded down with their crap, I have to wonder if it's worth staying a customer for the first time in 8 years.

Read the other discussions regarding any android update here. The CDMA radios are licensed from Quallcom (spell?) Those portions have to be approved. I believe Verizon Wireless has said in the past that they have rigorous testing procedure for phones and their OS updates. It has been explained before by better writers then myself.

I have a friend who just got the GSM version with JB...and I must say, I can see a noticeable difference is responsiveness.  The two things I am looking forward to when we finally get JB is the Google Now and the Project Butter.  Beyond those two items, I could care less.

Verizon's 'vigorous testing process' is bull.  Look at all the ROMs that are out there that use JB source code.  The integrate the radios seamlessly and I haven't had any problems with my JB ROM.  I think it's funny that people who aren't even professional android devs can get a ROM together a week after the source code is dropped but Verizon's testers spend 6 months testing out an update (RE: 4.0.4).  It does get frustrating.
