Isn't Verizon supposed to be good?

I just switched from AT&T because of a defective HTC Vivid. Although my switch was mainly due to AT&T's poor customer service, I also thought switching to Verizon would be a good idea as well. Well, after spending too much time trying to make a call several times just to activate our 2 new phones (other one being a Rzr), I kind of let it go hoping it was a first time thing. The phone call dropped about 5 times in a span of 30 mins just to activate. Anyway, I was excited this morning to check out the Web connectivity and the download speed Samsung and Verizon boast...To my dismay, the Web connection kept getting dropped. I ride the train (BART) and with my old AT&T phone, I was connected 90% of the time with very fast download speeds. So far with Nexus/Verizon, about 30%, with mostly lagging download speeds.

Can someone from Verizon tell me what the hell is going on? I will bring my wife's phone to see if it's a phone issue or Verizon's network. I will post tomorrow in case anyone's interested.

Sounds like AT&T's coverage on BART is better than Verizon's. If it's vital you need reception on BART, I'd return your phones to Verizon and go to another carrier before your 14 days are up.

Sorry i didnt specify. Internet connection is not consistent in other places where it was good with at&t... such as my workplace, outdoors, etc.

Again, Verizon coverage is the best in overall areas, but it won't always be the best coverage in a specific area.

Yeah, on a nationwide scale Verizon is the best coverage. But it would be impossible to be the best in every possible area. Just like lewis said, switch before your 14 days are up.

Switching telecoms for 'better' customer service is like switching cigarette brands to avoid getting emphysema.
