HELP!! Problem with launching 3rd party SMS apps

OK so I am LOVING the froyo update and all but there is one thing that is really bugging me.  Before the update, when I went to my text message list and pressed to open a convo it would give me a choice of apps to open with, and an option to make my selection the default messaging app.  Now when I go to my convo list and open a convo it will only open in the stock sms app which I hate because it does not have pop up notifications or anything!!  I'm wondering if there is a way to get my handcent sms app as the default messaging app again because that window no longer comes up.. any help greatly appreciated, thanks!!

You should be able to reset the default app in application settings, then it'll ask again, but I don't remember how >_>
