I can bet 1000000... Verizon will not give ETA. They will say "as soon as ..... " ass.... or will not say anything at all. Worth customer support.

Ummm, yes I agree with you Igor_K,

but VERIZON for your information

-- customer support 101 = set customer expectations!

If you don't set customer expectations then

  you WILLL have unhappy customers.

If you set customer expectations and deliver before the committed time then

you WILL have relatively happy customers.

Not to hard to understand.

Following this advice, I have thousands of happy customers with VERY VERY little churn.

Yes but if they set expectations and something goes wrong, they just set false expectations, if they set it out too far, then people complain "why is it so far out?"

A known far out date is much better than no date at all. At least it sets an expectation.

Verizon Wireless and other companies have tried this before for other devices. It didn't work out other than upsetting the customers. After dealing with these android updates for the last three years, I'm to the point of I would rather not have any idea if an update is coming or when until it is actually released and notifies me on my device. I certainly follow the rumors and know that I should or shouldn't expect an update, but I'm not going to pull my hair in the meantime waiting for it. Even the dreaded reboot bug on the Tbolt, I wanted to come quickly since my phone was exhibiting the symptoms. However I knew that it was a bug and I was willing to work around it for a while. Thankfully I didn't have to wait too long.

The poor DROID Incredible 2 and the HTC Rhyme owners are the one I feel sorry for. There is a press release from Verizon Wireless and another from HTC stating that a update to ICS was planned for and expected to be released someday. The same release had the Tbolt and other devices slated for ICS. The update to Android 4.0 was released for the Tbolt and the other devices on the release but has never been released for the DInc2 and Rhyme.

Don't get me wrong, I do want the 4.3 update to my Nexus, heck I would be even willing to wait longer for the 4.4 update and skipping 4.3. What and when is anybody's guess. Until then I'm enjoying all my devices with their current OS configuration.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Well my drama may soon be over with Verizon ... I ordered the Galaxy Note 3 and the Google Nexus 5 is expected to be announced on October 15th. If I do not like the GN3 and the GN5 is not offered by Verizon, I will simply return the GN3 and purchase the GN5 from the Google Play Store. The only phones I want to upgrade for our these two.

So, which is it VZ?

#1 Angry fanboys because they bought phones to be on the bleeding edge of the OS?

#2 Happy fanboys that are even happier IF they find a glitch and report it?

And, stop blocking Google Wallet!  You are violating the terms to the spectrum you bought from the government.  And, you are violating net neutrality by blocking the app to push your own app!  (If comcast blocked ABC network streaming, but allowed NBC Universal to fly, thy would be sued to high heck! You are doing the same thing by blocking google wallet!!!)

GIVE ME MY NEXUS EXPERIENCE.  NOW.

If Verizon is supposedly blocking Google Wallet, why isn't it available on the 2013 Nexus 7? Or why isn't it available on AT&T branded phones? T-Mobile branded devices?
