It's now June and I still have not been able to get the 2.2 update that has been out for over a month now. Thoughts?

Thank you all for your replies. Just to clarify, you will not be able to update the software on rooted phones. The phone must have all the original stock applications in order for the update to work properly. You can also attempt to unmount the SD Card and try the update.
Thank you,
Do you have wifi turned off? If not, do so.. OTA only works over 3G.
What happens when you:
Press Menu...Press Settings...Press 'about phone'...Press 'system updates'..
then press 'Check new' ?????
Also, under the 'about phone' menu...what is the 'build number' ?
I still haven't got it either.
It has been reported that some devices were unable to be updated due to technical problems and were being replaced by Verizon. Have you guys tried calling CS and ask about your issue?
Haven't tried to call them but I've sent numerous emails and have yet to get an answer

I'd stick with 2.1 if I had the option. The update causes serious degradation of battery life well-documented in this forum.
Check this thread, read the second post down.
It has a link that includes instructions on how to
manualy download and install Froyo 2,2 for phones
that won't update normally.
Worked great for one of my Fascinates
Hope that helps!

Thank you,
So, how is that a soloution? My phone is NOT "rooted" (don't even know what that is or how to do it).
Still has all the original apps, and my other fascinate updated just fine.
In fact, the one phone that still reports server unavailable when checking for updates,
was able to check for and got updates just fine prior to Froyo.
Didn't add any additional apps, did not remove any apps, it just decided one day to
report "server unavailable" when checking for updates.
Got my Froyo update from androidpolice as a downloadable update.zip file,
followed the instructions, and now I have Froyo.
All other attempts to get the update failed, including un-mounting sd card and
doing a factory reset.
Someone posted in this forum about going to my verizon and how to get that issue resolved
