Can't sync with my PC

Hi Everybody,

This has been mentioned a lot, but I'm having trouble getting my PC to recognize when the phone is plugged in with a USB.  Everything looks good on the phone's side, but the laptop never recognizes it.  To address some common solutions:

1.)  I'm using the factory cord

2.)  I get to the screen "USB storage in use" (but it's not!)

3.)  I've tried removing and replacing the SD card

4.)  I've updated drivers

5.)  I've installed VCAST Media Manager, which doesn't work, and I don't want to use.

I think it's been this way for a while, but I'm just getting around to adressing it.  Is this something that anyone else has faced?  I really don't want to do a factory reset....

Thanks!

Try using a different usb port and make sure you are not using a hub, connect directly to the pc, see also in device manager if you have any yellow question marks

Thank you everyone for the information provided. I have researched this issue and it is not known. I would recommend a hard reset on the device and trying to sync again. Before you perform a hard reset, I would recommend to remove your SD card first and ensure that your contacts are backed up with Google Contacts or via the Backup Assistant by going to www.verizonwireless.com/backupassistant.

To perform a hard reset, follow the steps below:

-  From a home screen, select Applications.

-  Select Settings.

-  Select Privacy.

-  Select Factory data reset.

-  Select Reset phone.

-  Select Erase everything.

Try to sync your device again, if the issue persists please contact us directly for additional assistance.

Thank you,

I didn't notice that you had updated drivers (did you update the usb drivers from the site i referenced?) If this is the case, you may want to take the phn to vzw. they will probably want to wipe the handset before replacing, but you may have a bad port... it would be unusual for a bad port to charge ur phn and not connect to the computer, but not unheard of. hope this helps
