I remember my fascinate having a noticable drop in battery life when I first switched. The best thing you can do is to charge your battery up to full, then drain it completely and charge it back up. 99% of the times you do a major Android update, your battery stats get screwy. By running your battery COMPLETELY down (powers off, will not turn back on, then leave it dead for a little while), it will reset your battery stats, recallibrate the battery, and get you back to the battery life you had before.

I don't believe it but this worked. 2.2 brought my battery life down to less then a day. Now I'm back to two full days like before the 2.2 update. So I guess "solved" is correct.

Count me in.  I have also for the first time been having troubles with pictures, gallery, and other apps running slow. I use the picture frame widget and when I chose a pic it places a totally different pic.  Strange.  my phone did freeze for the first time ever just 2 days ago and my phone became extreemly warm.  I  turned it off and left it off for sometime and turned it back on and have not had that happpen since.  Sometimes when I am getting into an app, my phone reverts back to the home page.  I love the addition to the calendar for bi-weekly added to the repeat option.  I do like that all the widgets are together rather than with two seperate options.  I hope these bugs get resolved.  I truely love my phone.  I just have been slightly frustrated in stead of facinated the past week.

Battery life is horrible since update.   Very laggy navigation too.

We're sorry for the troubles everyone is explaining regarding the battery life since updating your phones. As skunberg was able to confirm, simply draining your battery completely (until the phone actually powers off) and FULLY recharging the battery before using again will restore your battery life to pre-update condition. It is usually best to even do this twice in a row to ensure the battery life is enhanced as fully as possible.

Thanks everyone for your input on this issue.

Are you kidding me????? We have performed full drain and full recharge no less than 6 times, and it DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. The issue is the display using the bulk of the battery since the update. I have found many threads about people trying this and "bump charging" along with full factory resets who report no improvement to battery life. There is even another thread where another Verizon employee admits there is an issue with battery life since the Froyo update. Please stop telling Fascinate owners to drain then recharge their batters and factory reset their phones. That's not the fix!! We need a patch and quick!

Since upgrading to 2.2, my battery seems to last longer???  Nice!

I have a Samsung Fascinate and so does my son-in-law.  We both have a half day of battery life since the 2.2 update.  This is unacceptable to not be able to get through one day without recharging.

We have both disabled GPS, the Nav system and anything else that normally drains the battery.  I've gone to the most basic, plain wallpaper available thinking that might help but it hasn't.

There is no point having a phone with these features that you can't use.

Verizon needs to fix this now.

I am having an issue with this. I thought it was just me. I will try draining the battery and recharging to see if that works.
