The music transfer was suppose to occur at the Verizon store, but did not happen.  What is the best way for me to transfer my music from the Galaxy 3 to the Galaxy 6, and do I have to download all my old apps again, or is there another way to bring them up on my new phone.  Thank you!

EMarlene,

We never want you to have a difficult time getting your files onto your new phone. That's crucial. How was this music loaded onto your S3? Did you load your Google account from the old phone onto the S6 as well?

My music was loaded onto my S3 from my Droid at the Verizon store 2 years ago.  Last week when I purchased the S6 the contacts and videos were loaded.  When I arrived home I found the music had not been.  Eventually I attached both devices to my computer and managed to copy my music from the S3 to the S6.  My Google account has been loaded from my S3 onto the S6.  The pressing problem is my Apps.  Under "Backup and Restore" on my S3 I found that "back up my data" is checked but on the computer the folder under Samsung BrR is empty.  I have numerous Apps I use regularly, such as Dropbox and healthcare portals.  Do I have to redownload all my Apps from Google Store??  What can I do with my S6 to ensure this problem does not occur again if/when I decide to upgrade from the S6??

The Galaxy S6 is an awesome device. You should be able to upload your music to the Verizon Cloud and transfer to another phone should you decide to switch. There are also other cloud services such as Google Music, Spotify, ect that will transfer your music.

As for your applications they should come in with your google (gmail) account. If not then you can download them in the Play store. I like to go online on my laptop and do it from there.

You won't get some kind of canned response from me, lol. Unfortunately, it does sound as if you will have to download your apps again from Google Store or wherever you originally acquired them from. Shouldn't really be that hard though. And honestly, there are no 100% guarantees that this won't happen when you should decide to upgrade your device in the future. Try to back your stuff up to your gmail account, or any of the various cloud applications, being sure that you have "back up app data" selected as an option if that is what you wish to do. In my opinion, I prefer to re-download all my apps individually to prevent any problems from a mass download of all apps you have installed.
