This morning my phone inexplicably could no longer detect when I was touching the screen. (I know it worked last night because I was playing Candy Crush...) The phone and the screen are not "frozen", since if I plug in or unplug the charger, the icon in the screen changes to indicate whether the phone is charging, and other icons appear in the status bar at the top if a calendar notification pops up, etc. The screen goes dark or re-illuminates when I press the power button, as expected. I just can't swipe to unlock the phone. (Which means I also can't go into settings to see kernel version, etc.) I can reboot the phone by taking out the battery and re-inserting it, but the phone still can't detect touch. It's as if everything about it works normally except it can't detect touch on the screen.
I've had phones before that were touch-insensitive on a particular part of the screen, but never where the entire screen because touch-insensitive all at once.
Any idea what to do?
