I reactivated an S7 on my line and completed the system update. After I completed the system update, I still have the icon that prompts the system update. I was roaming when I did the first update and completed it again after I was no longer roaming but still have the icon pop back up after the phone reboots

Have you gone into recovery mode Volume up-Power-Home and clear the cache partition then reboot the phone. If this does not clear it I would try going here
Repair Assistant - Software Upgrade Assistant (Samsung) | Verizon Wireless
If you can't get this to work try using smart switch or kies they can detect problems with Samsung phones

We got the update 2 days ago and I turned off mobile and the wifi then hit the update button.
I am in a rural area I mean I am in the middle of nowhere and we both got the update done in
about 5 mins. I don't know how big it was I went through all the settings to see what changed
as far as the data to the phone and didn't see to much of a difference. I checked the mobile
and it had like 0 data and nothing under wifi.
