I recently got a s5 and it's using a ton more data than any other phone I have had...is this a common issue?

if you have facebook, weather, financial + bloatware that keeps updating all the time it's what's using data, use wi-fi where you can.
t i don't use un-encrypted public wi-fi.
go into settings/apps/manage app....all apps to the right & go down the list & stop what you aren't using....stop, not force stop.

In addition, you can restrict background data for certain apps you dont want to run unless they are on wifi or in the foreground.

I have restricted background data and turn off mobile data and I am still getting messages about data usage and I have a home wi-fi network so there is no reason for so much data usage.

Yes it's ridiculous thinking about going to a company that offers more data
