We are sorry to read that you are having battery issues with the new update, chilt. We want to help you with getting this battery issue resolved. The updates on your device are developed by the phone manufacturer. They test the updates and let us know when they are good to be released. We would like you to go to Settings, tap Device Maintenance, tap Battery and check on the usage for all apps and let us know which application is using most data.

I beg to differ, Pedro_VZW. The manufacturers do not develop the updates. They are the work of Android/Google.

I have an older LG G5 that just got the Oreo update. A lot problems but the biggest one is the LED notification for messages and phone calls;
The LED notification color is blue now for everything despite any setting in Messaging. It used to be green and the default color in Messaging still says green.
The LED notification blinking is very very slow... one can miss the LED on unless one stares at the phone for 20 seconds.
Any solutions ? I could find no option to change the default color or blink rate. I did read about the Lightflow app but it looks like I need to install an older one to get rid of the constant notification icon from it ?

This is a Oreo issue and it can't be changed.

I rely on my LED notifications and can totally understand your concern, Rminnj. We want to learn more in order to better assist. What messaging application are you using? Is the messaging application updated with the latest software version? Looking forward to hearing back.

Im using the phones message + app. Version 6.6.7.
I can live with the blue color...the default color ..green..is ignored since the Oreo update. But there is no way to get it to blink more than every 5 to 6 seconds...

Thank you for those details rminnj, after doing some more research we do see that these changes were part of the Oreo update which was processed recently on your device. We would recommend checking under Settings>Notifications, from here you can see the notifications changes that you can make under your device. We will definitely forward this feedback to the manufacturer so that they can keep in mind these changes in future updates.
