phone refuses to take or hold charge, might replace?

I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII that I've owned for less than two years and recently it stopped holding a charge out of the blue. It goes from 100% battery to 0% within an hour. It also takes about 12 hours off and plugged in to get back to 100%, and sometimes just stops charging randomly. I replaced the battery and nothing changed, so I'm not sure whats going on with it. Any ideas?

Have you tried using a different charger, sounds like it is defective. Surprisingly they seem to fail far more frequently than phones and batteries do.

Batteries are only intended to be good for so many charge and discharge cycles. They generally need to be replaced (just the battery) after somewhere between 10 and 14 months with standard use. The very low battery life you're seeing sounds like a battery issue, and nothing more.  A hard reset to your device won't fix a bad battery. You can get them online:Standard Battery for Samsung Galaxy S III | Verizon Wireless

caecilia97 oranjii said that they already tried replacing the battery though.

Yes, but they didn't say it was a new battery. If you use your friend's battery that is just as old, you're going to have the same drain issues. There are also battery kits that come with external chargers. Still cheaper than a new phone, includes a new battery and charger, and then all potential charging issues (charging port, cables and battery) are eliminated.
