My husband and I each have a Galaxy S5. His phone was telling him he had insufficient storage space. We realized he didn't have an SD card, so we bought a 16GB one. But it still is telling him he has insufficient space. He's changed his settings. But we're not really sure what he needs to do. The store told us to buy an SD card (but to buy it elsewhere since they are expensive in their store). So we did. Any thoughts?

You can move them with a file explorer app like ES File Explorer, but I agree that moving them via a computer is quicker.

Has he moved photos/videos from the phone to the SD card?

We're hoping he wouldn't have to manually move every single one. There are quite a bit of photos and videos he's taken on it. But if that's the only way we'll get cracking on it.

Also can move apps over, but keep in mind not all apps will move over. That's up to the respective developers.

You do have to move them over manually to the card. Even with the card in or at least on my S5 it doesn't automatically store the photos on the card when I take photos or download them like my LG did so after I take photos or download a document I move them over to the card manually. I love ES file explorer and use it on all my devices. Mary

With an SD card installed, the phone should automatically save photos taken with the camera to the card, i.e., camera app > settings > storage location > tap and choose Memory Card.

Not on my phone it doesn't and I have an SD card installed. They save to the cloud but whenever I take photos, download a document or photo from email or text it does not go to the card, it goes to the internal memory and I have to manually move them over. Spent 30min over at Verizon for a tech to tell me I have to move them over manually. If you can tell me how to make it automatically do this on the S5 I would love it. On my LG I had settings and could tell it save photos to the card or save documents to the card and every time I downloaded something it would go to the card. Maybe I am not understanding where the settings are for this but the tech said I had to do it manually. Mary

Sorry I meant to say I do have the camera set to SD card and it works when I take photos but when I receive files I have to move them over manually every time where as on my LG phone any files downloaded or from text would automatically save to the SD card as I could designate that in the settings. Can that be done on the S5? Mary
