i placed and order on 2/18 paid the tax on new phone ,only to call today to find out my order was not placed.

customer service cancelled the order today only to find out in order for me to get a new phone i would have to pay the tax on the second phone..who has the money to pay twice in 5 days taxes on phones which this was a VERIZON issue.

VERIZON dropped the ball on my order and now they want me to pay twice.  Paul ( the manager) WAS NO HELP.

I think it time to find a NEW PROVIDER,  its funny when your bill is late VERIZON has no issue turning service OFF. BUT when VERIZON MESS UP NO ONE WANTS TO RESOLVE ISSUES.......

Thank you VERIZON WIRELESS FOR YOUR GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE...

That's how cancelled orders work. You start a new order which is exactly how it sounds -- taxes paid originally would end up being refunded. Taxes paid on order A doesn't transfer to order B. Your outcome would have been the same regardless of carrier.

Adixon1970, when waiting for a new phone I know that I would be anxious to have it in my hands. We are sorry to hear that your order did not go as smoothly as we would hope. Should the original order have canceled, a credit will apply back to the original form of payment. In many cases customers will use credit or debit cards. These types of transactions do take 3-5 business days to appear back on the card. Should a new order be placed, as we have credited the initial order, taxes would be charged. We hope this helps to explain.

That's why you pay with a CC. Dispute the charge, say Verizon cancelled the order and is not actually owed the money. Then it is on Verizon to prove whether or not you actually owe the money instead of you waiting for your refund.

Furthermore, reading on these forums I see more and more reasons to not purchase phones from Verizon and instead do so direct from the manufacturer. Personally, I have not purchased a phone from Verizon for at least 4 years. Additionally, when you purchase an unlocked device direct from the manufacturer you don't have to pay the exorbitant upgrade fee.
