I have tried everything to get my wifi green light to stay on and to stay connected to any wifi. My phone is configured correctly. I have had to take the battery out now for about a month every day but now this will not even work. If I take the battery out and waiting than restart I can get on wifi but only for a minitue now before we are back to no wifi. Any fixes out there.

I have a samsung S4 that will not keep my wifi on all the time. My account
data package just turned over on the 28th and I have used so much data
because I cannot get my wifi to stay connected. This started a few months
ago and I had to restart at first , than restore and now I have to shut the
phone down take the battery out for a couple minutes than replace the
battery and restart. This was working but now it only works once in a
while. Most of the time nothing works and I don't use my phone as I need to
because wifi will not stay on. Also it has been getting very hot at times.
This has become very inconvenient to say the least. I direct and produce a
Live Stream shoot on Sunday morning and use my phone to monitor some times.
Not having wifi capabilities is frustrating. If we ever Do get the problem
fixed I should be able to get some data recovered due to the inability
to connect. Also I have been to a Verizon store twice at which time they do
a battery removal and restart which works for maybe an hour until last week
when nothing I try works. THey also checked my setting which were right.
Any help would be appreciated.
Sincerely
Terry L. Flohr

It is essential that we restore your WiFi connectivity Terry. The information provided in your message is very helpful. I understand that you have done many troubleshooting steps, and I thank you for your efforts. It is very important to get to the root cause of this issue. Does your screen display any type of error while connecting to WiFi? For example, failed to obtain IP address, or any other error indicating what exaclty is preventing or interrupting the WiFi connection.

No, my screen does not display any error message. What happens is when I go
to check and see if I am on wifi so as not o use all my data plan I go to
settings, than wifi and it is off, when I try and slide the wifi button to
on, the green light comes on for a second than goes off. Sometimes I take
the battery out and it will stay on green for a while but than its back to
the same thing the wifi button will not stay on the on position. I have
read about this problem online and many people with this phone are having
the same issue. Today I took the battery out again and it is on for the
time being.
Sincerely,

Tflohr, let's get you that more stable connection. Is this happening only with one specific wi-fi connection that you use? If so, have you attempted to reboot the router and then retry that connection? Also, what happens if you go to the settings, data and turn off the mobile data then turn on the wi-fi? Does the wi-fi connection stay on?
