Will my device work with an international sim card?

Member

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. I'll be in France for an extended period of time this summer. I'd like to use a local wireless carrier rather than a Verizon Global Roaming plan as I'll have a local apartment and need a local number. Can I use my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 with a French (Orange most likely) SIM?

Hello CT_Amiel,

That's so exciting to hear that you get to go to France this summer! You can use our Trip Planner to check to see if any of our Global plans will work for you. http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/tripplanner/tripplannercontroller?mlcid=ML|article|click-through|...

All Verizon 4G LTE phones are unlocked from the factory. You can certainly try to use a local SIM, but our devices are designed for the Verizon network, and performance on other networks is not guaranteed.
