And another good way is to vote with the money you spend on service by not signing a new contract and moving your service to another provider that works for you. I can't do that where I live, I have at&t wireless, Sprint wireless and TMOB, none of which have good service in this area or place I travel and in between those there service is non existent of phone service and don't even think about 4G/lte. VZW has that where I live and many of the places I travel and except for the Indian reservation near by I have good service in most places in between. The lack of new phones in 32 gb internal memory and the lack of timely updates I do have issue and I do express that displeasure here to all others as well as VZW. My only outlet.
I'll tell you why I'm angry about it. I upgraded to 4.3 expecting it to actually be an upgrade. Instead though, I was met with the same issues that many, many others have expressed; poor battery life, slow charging, battery overheating, etc.
However, I have few options to remedy this. There's no way to downgrade back to 4.2.2, that I'm aware of. I can reset my phone to the factory settings and lose everything I've done up until now, but I'm unwilling to do that, nor should I have to.
So, the best option available is to upgrade to the next release of the software which is supposed to solve these issues. But, I can't because VZW is dragging their feet. They always do, but this one seems longer than most. Especially when they released the previous version before anyone else.
So, while it may just be a "software update" to you, it is greatly affecting my daily life and how I use my phone. For as long as I've been a customer and as much as I pay for my phone and service, it would be nice to see some of that money going towards improving the customer experience and not funneling it all to advertising to gain more market share.
And VZW won't even take ownership and get a fix out like they did with an update for the S3 a few month back which screwed up many customers S3 so they could not even use it for a phone call. VZW tried to blame someone else and then it took them 2 weeks to get a fix out for that blunder but that was after about 2 weeks or so of even denying there was even an issue
S4 Kitkat Rollout Timeline:
Sprint - Feb 13th
AT&T - Feb 26th
T-Mobile - Mar 10th
Verizon - ?!?
Tomorrow marks 1 month since the last major carrier released KitKat for their S4, and in four days it will be 2 months since the first major carrier released it on their S4.
2 MONTHS BEHIND?!? Really Verizon?!?
Way to stay ahead of the competition... You act like a 2nd rate carrier with your updates. Good job...
Can't forget the Canadian carriers and even some of the minor carriers in the United States that have already pushed out the update. Verizon customer service just plain sucks. They cannot see the forest through the trees. I for one cannot wait until July when my contract is up.
Just don't leave us hanging Verizon. All we need is a yes we are going to get kitkat... or no we are not

Yes, it is taking longer then I'm sure they want, and OBVIOUSLY the posters in this thread want, but truly people are freaking out and all it does it make you look like spoiled brats to get THIS upset over a software update. Your phone is fine most likely, and if you do any custom anything rooted ect this update will almost surely decrease that ability, but in the end like the quote says do what you want. I just don't want to participate in this whinefest so have a good one, or at least try.
