Well. I really do want Kitkat. Seems like we have waited long enough.
I will say to all those people bagging on Verizon. I went to another regional carrier and just came back less than a month ago. Verizon could never be as bad as they were. So I for one am happy to be back with Verizon. Really really really happy. MY PHONE WORKS!
That being said. . . My phone is only a month old and I want the latest and greatest.
All this ruckus over a minor update, good grief.
Yeah well, Verizon should just unlock our bootloader and let us do what we want with our phones if they're not going to keep it up to date.
Especially the individuals who have fully paid off phones cannot do crap with them with this locked bootloader .
beyedup, it's funny that you mentioned about unlocking the bootloader. I was talking to a fellow co-worker last week who happens to have a S4 from another carrier (T-Mobile). He has KitKat and has experienced no problems, but that is not the most interesting thing that he told me. T-Mobile has a plan similar to Verizon Edge and after you have paid off the phone, T-Mobile will send you the code to root your phone.
Nice! But I don't think Verizon will do that just yet. There is a petition on change.org trying to get enough signatures to get VZW to unlock bootloader. Not sure if you know about it or not. But you can sign it and pass the word.
I own my S4 and would like to do what I want. I bought it to maintain my unlimited data service. Coz once you use your upgrade, you sign a new 2 year agreement nullifying your unlimited data.
I also wish Verizon would fix this forum. I cannot post anything from pc.

After reading that article (marketing ploy) on the vzw website about the S5, I can proudly say that I will NEVER renew a contract with Verizon again, and I will make sure that EVERYONE I know NEVER signs up or buys a phone from Verizon again. The sales person told me that my phone would be updated to KitKat so that I could use Google wallet, now verizon is using KitKat as a sales advantage for the S5 specifically mentioning that the S4 doesn't have it and purposefully not updating our phones when we have every right for them to be updated, just as they are on every other carrier
ALL other US Carriers already have KIT KAT on the Galaxy S4!!! Verizon does NOT, That is a fact!!
Now we know Verizon's intention. NO Kit Kat for GS4's any time soon!! When you look at Verizon's promotion of the GS5 it talks about how great KIT KAT is and how the GS4 DOES NOT HAVE IT, which means it is not coming any time soon!!!!
