Is the network at work private or public? Also may be because of the admin. I'd check with your IT Team.

We don't have an IT team at work. It is a normal secured network very similar to what I have at home. Texting works at work, but not at home.

Unless you are on wifi calling (VZW wifi where Verizon normally is in the status area) stock texting (SMS) does not go over wifi but the cellular network. What is your cell signal like at home? Did you turn on wifi calling which will allow SMS texting over wifi.

Being able to send & receive messages of WiFi is a must JODRUT53. Let's get to the bottom of what is causing this issue. What happens when you try to send a message over WiFi on your home network? Does anyone else have the same issue when trying to do the same?

Untrue, I am sitting in a room at work with zero cell service on airplane mode and I can text over wifi. At home, same set up, it won't send.

Does your phone indicate VZW Wi-Fi in the status area at work? Unless wifi calling is active traditional SMS does not go over wifi. This could be a firewall issue at home preventing the wifi calling to connect.

Thank you @josephe_vzw! When I am at home, I have pretty terrible service, wifi is turned on, it says "service is unavailable will send when service become available". I have wifi calling on.

This all points to your routers firewall rules blocking wifi calling. Truly SMS cannot go through wifi unless wifi calling is turned on and connected, as indicated by VZW Wi-Fi indicator in status area.

I don't think that I have had this on before, but who knows. I am working on the router firewall. Do yu know what ports need to be open?
