Why can't my Verizon Galaxy S4 text in UK?

I'm in the UK (Norwich) and enabled global access before I left USA. I'd like to text someone back in the US, but get "no signal found for mobile networks". I have Network Mode = Global set under Settings | More networks | Mobile networks.

I know how important it is to have a working phone and signal while traveling internationally trailmonkey. I'm sorry you're not able to use your phone. You call our global team at 908-559-4899 for help with your issues. Here are settings to trun global roaming off and on. http://vz.to/17KseUf .
• From the home screen, select Apps (located in the lower-right).
• From the Apps tab, select Settings.
• From the Connections tab, select More networks.
• Select Mobile networks.
• Select Global Data Roaming Access.
• Select the option.
Deny data roaming access
Allow access only for this trip
Allow access for all trip
After these steps, turn your phone off and on and keep us posted.
