Re: Why can't I put my picture on my Caller Name ID?

I don't know how to confirm that my name is in the data base. Caller Name

ID came with the phone on a free trial basis, and when the trial period

expired I extended it on a paid basis (or let it be extended by doing

nothing, forget which.) At any rate, I just checked my current bill and

the monthly charge for Caller Name ID is definitely listed there. Also, in

the Caller Name ID app on my phone when I open it and check Account Status,

it says Current Subscription Status Subscribed. Do I have to do something

else to check the data base?

Telemachus, I want to make sure that this feature you are paying for works. Have you had the chance to check your My Verizon feature page to see if you have Share ID currently active?

Yes, I see under My Verizon/Manage Features that I have Caller Name ID for

$2.99/month. I also see that is where I can move the feature, which I will

do if I can't get it to work.

Maybe I should add that I have not experienceed any problems at all with

any other app on this phone, neither of the ones that came with the phone

or the numerous ones I've installed myself.

We want to get to the bottom of this, Telemachus. Do you have 4G data enabled? The Caller Name ID service uses the 4G network to support the Picture ME feature. If data is enabled and you are still unable to upload a photo, we will need to escalate this with our technical support team.

In the upper left there is an icon that says 4G-LTE. When I make a call,

it changes to 1x (not sure what that means) and the call works fine. When I

turn off Wi-Fi, and access the internet, the little arrows under 4G start

to flash. So I assume all this means I have 4G enabled.

If the problem can't be solved by remote consulting, I'll just unsubscribe

from Caller ID and do without it. I don't want to have to send the phone

in and do without it while it's being checked.

Telemachus-

Those details greatly help! I know it must be confusing but no worries, I will clarify this for you. When WIFI is off, your phone is making a connection to our server so it would be normal for your 4G arrow to flash. I see you have tried some basic troubleshooting steps. I would like you to test your phone in Safe mode to see if this feature works on your end. Please follow this link with the steps needed http://vz.to/1V4TciH and keep us posted on the outcome.

OK, I started the phone in safe mode (lower left said safe mode,) tried

twice more to set an existing picture to Caller ID Picture Me, same result,

when I selected picture phone went black and stayed that way. When I

restarted the phone in regular mode and tried again, same result.

By the way, I'm signed up for Total Mobile Protection for this phone. Does

this give me access to some other source of consulting, or should I

continue to work on this problem through this forum?

Thanks so much for all that you've done! Are you connected to Wi-Fi when attempting to set up the picture me? Reviewing additional details the 4G Network is used to support the "Picture Me" and Extended name features within the Caller Name ID app. I would suggest turning Wi-Fi off temporarily to test if the connection completes with it turned off.

There is a tech coach feature that you do receive with Total Mobile Protection that may be found here: http://vz.to/19fYWjW

I have a very similar issue where I just get a spinning upload message and then it hangs the screen. Nothing works other than soft keys to go back to home screen. BUT, that leaves the application running trying to upload the picture killing the battery and performance.

I see this hassle has been going on since April and this is October. Still no fix?

Verizon should put an email blast out that says not to use this application or at least do NOT use the picture me because the that part of the application simply does not work. Once attempted you have only one choice and that is to disable the application all together, which means now you get nothing out of it.

I cancelled my service for it.
