Sitting on October 2016 security update. So far we've missed 3, but my guess is you are waiting for Nougat to be ready and aren't doing anything more with Marshmallow on GS7.

wow, so we might be sitting on an October security patch until May/June? I just want Nov, Dec, Jan security updates. I don't care about Nougat! I just want the monthly patches!

We're probably looking at having to ditch Sammy and adopt something from the Google stable, a la Pixel if we want to see regular security updates, much less the promised Nougat update. Nothing Samsung has promised in the course of the past few months has come to fruition, nor have they confirmed compensation/reparation proceedings for the GN7 fiasco.

Yes, reparations for the GN7 fiasco consisting of two recalls, lost data
and productivity, wasted accessories bought, getting turned away by TSA,
kicked off Amtrak, and the 20 plus hours of trying to deal with Samsung
customer disservice.

I'm sure by now you got your money back for the device and the accessories were offered a refund depending on where you bought them. They offered an incentive on a new non Samsung device or $100 off another Samsung. If customers didn't like that that's on them. You will HARDLY see anything more than that, notwithstanding the fact that the travel ban was announced well in advance and that was issued by the government not Samsung. Being on the phone so long was because so many people called. And no I do not work for either of those entities.

You'd be wrong. Since the second GN7 recall, it took me an inordinate
amount of time (2.5 months) writing emails and making phone calls to
Samsung, then waiting on their contractor, Stericycle to deliver to me a
'refurbished' GS7E (incompatible with car charger, fast wall charger,
s-view case, and glass screen protector accessories I haven't been
reimbursed for) that now exhibits other problems not corrected in their
refurb process. Further, the $100 incentive to remain with Sammy still
hasn't been issued, nearly two months after taking possession of the vastly
inferior GS7E. Up until this purposeful fumble to trouble me I had been a
Samsung zealot for an entire decade. No more.

The incentive was for a brand new device not a refurb. You were also supposed to go immediately to the place you purchased your accessories through if they participated in the program. We can discuss this all day long. You'd be wrong.
All best.

You're still wrong. Though a new S7 was supposed to be sent by Samsung, the
point of purchase - a refurb was sent by them instead. Accessories
purchased at Best Buy and on Amazon were not eligible for refund by the
carrier, and Sammy still hasn't reimbursed for, despite being emailed twice
receipt copies...Back in October. You're in the tank for Sammy, which is
fine. [Removed]
Thanks.
