Voice to Text Icon gone missing...

I have a Galaxy S8 and my talk-to-text icon is GONE. I have scoured the internet looking for a solution to this. I have made sure that mic permissions are on, tried using a different app (Messages), reinstalled Message+,  reset my Samsung keyboard, tried changing Speech to Text to Google (no good) and back to Samsung (still no good). I have rebooted between times just in case a system restart is required. I've tried all kinds of hacks suggested in forums and nothing seems to work. Yes, I have held the button next to the spacebar but it only shows punctuation marks. Why am I missing here?

Did you make any changes to your device settings around the time you noticed the Voice to Text icon became missing?
