Everytime I bring my S8 to my ear to listen to a message through Verizon Visual Voicemail, the screen goes black and the message stops. I can only hear messages by activating speaker mode

Darik.f123, accessing your messages is crucial. Let's take a closer look at what you are experiencing to get to the bottom of this. When the screen goes black do you find that you are seeing a menu screen when you move the device from your ear again? Also, please go to the Settings, Apps, Application Manager, Visual Voicemail, and let us know what version you are seeing.

I have the same issue on my s8+. The VVM message pauses the message everytime you bring it to your ear, and because it uses the earpiece volume not the speaker, you can hardly hear it.
