Thank you Verizon Wireless - No I'm kidding

Latest update completely ruined 4G LTE, I'm getting data speeds less than 1x when I have 3 bars of LTE, some web pages actually never finish loading.  Completely removed all traces of Blocking Mode, probably so you could offer us some bloatware for a monthly price that does the same thing.  Aaaaand you still haven't "fixed" the WiFi in the "Ongoing" notifications and put in the toggle where it belongs.  I've been a VZW customer since 1999 and put up with a lot so I could have the nation's best network, but you guys are making me think it's time to move on.  Seriously.

First people are crying because verizon is last on pushing out updates to the devices, Then when they do verizon gets blamed for a bad update. The maker of the phone makes the updates not verizon. If you have problems with the updated OS contact Samsung. Verizon gets to hear the complaints and all the threats of "I am going to leave etc."

The same problems are happening on other cellular carriers.

So good luck on your new provider.

Check the web (Google) and you will see what I told you is correct.

This is probably a dumb question: is the update automatically downloaded to my Samsung Galaxy SIII?  Since there appears to be a problem, has Verizon stopped the download?

Thank you.

I have read here on the forum that it is not an automatic install. You have to want it.

Have you done a master reset since the update? My suggestion would be back up any info you want, pics, contacts, etc, and complete a master/factory reset and see if that helps.

posts on the update have said this does not work. in some cases it makes it worse.

However I have read a new sim card has fixed the problem for others.

You do have to interact to complete the upgrade.  I got it but I have not noticed an issue with the update.  I have heard of others with the update and no issue.  I doubt if VZW has stopped the update as yet.  I have read where some have replaced the sim and fixed the problems they where experiencing and for some the sim replacement did not fix their issues.  These issues seem to be very sporadic issues from what I have been reading.
