Talk to text issue

When I open up texting, tap on the screen the board comes up, I hit the mic to talk to text and NO NETWORK AVAILABLE.... PLEASE TRY AGAIN WHEN YOU ARE CONNECTED TO THE NETWORK. My talk to text use to work. After the update not so much.....

Do you have a network connection when this happens? Either wifi or cellular data?

Is there any chance that you have background data turned off, and that this could be causing the problem? In Settings, tap Connections and then Data usage. Then tap the Menu key (!!--a brilliant way of hiding some important settings). Is Restrict background checked? If so, it might possibly interfere with this function, at least on a 4G connection, though it should still work with WiFi.

Data is on, I have no issues in that department, only when I try talk to text. It does the same thing even if connected to wifi.

Hi rocky2004hog!

Talk to text is a great feature, I use it all the time! Let's get yours working for you. I have a few steps I'd like you to try for me. First, please remove the battery and SIM card from the device for about 60 seconds, reattach, power on, and try again.
Though this next step isn't network-related, please go into Settings>My Device>Language and Input. From there you can adjust the keyboard settings and voice input settings to see if that helps at all.
