SAMSUNG WI-FI PROBLEM OR QUESTION

We recently (45 days) got a new D-Link DSL-2750B router/modem from Verizon. I still have some issues with it. More recently we got two Samsung Galaxy S 4 phones (SCH-1545).  I have spent weeks trying to solve an Internet connection problem with two laptops connected by wire to the router that lose the ability to find pages on the Internet. The problem is that my Internet activity randomly comes back “cannot find page” or other similar messages. This happens as seldom as every other day or as often as every 10 minutes, and the Internet is out for from 2 to 10 minutes. The internet light on the router says we have Internet and the computer says the Internet is connected too. I have good reason to believe it is related to the phones. I have found that this problem is reduced to almost zero when the Wi-Fi connection is off on both phones. Has anyone seen this problem? Does anyone have a solution or a suggestion on how to diagnose the problem?
